Artists Date No. 1

I read Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way a few years back...still love the notion of an artist's date:
http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/artists-dates/ the basic idea is to give your inner artist/child  time to recharge once a week by going by yourself on an uncensored "artist's date",to get inspired, look at nature, delight yourself. This week, my artist's date was a bike ride to Abbott Kinney Blvd. with my camera and no agenda but to find things that caught my eye. I had a wonderful time, it was entirely free, and here are a few of my favorite images from "the date." If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it: http://bit.ly/ku1l6C you can get it online at Powell's bookshop.

yesterday's nature walk

Ran across these 2 squishy fellows in the Ballona Creek right below the Ballona Creek Bridge on Washington Street while walking toward the Venice Fishing Pier. Does anyone know what they are? Saw this scruffy Osprey fishing for his/her dinner at Mother's Beach on the walk back. Loving these thriving and unusual wild things in our urban midst. Just found out there is a bike trail along the creek...we will be investigating...Photo credit: Mia (age 9)

We are a family of three (Jim , Nori  and Mia age 9) living with a family of working dogs on a sailboat in Venice, Ca. Join us as we explore our year in Venice. We are on the lookout for amazing and affordable things to do with dogs...people...and kids....on the Westside of  Los Angeles. More about all of us later.
